There are 2 rides in the process of undergoing scheduled refurbishment at Universal Orlando Islands of Adventure.
The attraction Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls, is now closed. However, the ride will have it’s reopening on February 26th. So not too long from now. It is currently drained with maintenance being done. Which could be a great thing since it’s very cold in Florida. Water and cold weather, plus rides, do not mix; at least for most Floridians.
The second ride that will be worked on is Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges, closing soon on February 25th. And is scheduled to reopen on March 19th.
According to Universal, there are also 2 other rides closed and yet to have an opening date. And those are the Caro-Seuss-el, located in Seuss Landings, and (as we all mostly know by now), Poseidon’s Fury. Is that ever going to reopen? Who knows. It could be a nice indoor rollercoaster. But because there is no talk about it, it seems Poseidon’s Fury will never reopen at this rate.
Luckily, there is still much fun to be had at both Universal Orlando theme parks. Be sure to check out the new rollercoaster at Islands of Adventure, in Jurassic Park, called: VelociCoaster.
Manufactured by Intamin, VelociCoaster officially opened on June 10th, 2021. All mostly with great reviews of VelociCoaster being the best coaster in the world!
